Susuru Orlando : New Retro- Themed Japanese Gastrobar Near Disney Set to Open This Fall 2018
Susuru Orlando , the new Japanese retro themed gastrobar, offers you a dining and cultural experience all at once- something that is hard to find in Orlando.
Susuru , the sister concept of a local favorite , Jade New Asian in college park, will be opening this fall in Orlando, and will feature authentic Japanese menu items. The menu was created by the team and the owner Lewis Lin, who lived and traveled through Japan for years.
Located in the Lake Buena Vista area near Walt Disney World, this gastrobar will have a unique sake craft bar , featuring exciting creations from Nadine @tipsygypsyadventures, a very talented mixologist here in Orlando. There will also be special off the menu on a limited basis.
The goal with SUSURU is to recreate the“fun, friendly atmosphere with communal eating” that the owner experienced while living and traveling in Japan. Two years ago, the owner Lewis Lin started looking for a spot that has some time-earned character to match the “Japanese GastroBar” theme.
Sneak Peak Menu Items
Guests will be able to experience the style of izakaya dining- the menu will showcase a variety of Japanese bar appetizers. One of the many exciting menu items SUSURU will have is a new trendy style creamy chicken ramen in Japan called “Tori Paitan”. They will serve up a type of yakitori called Tsukune (Japanese Chicken Meatballs) that nicely grilled in an oval shape.
Craft Sake Cocktails
Susuru will feature some incredible one of a kind craft cocktails inspired by the Japanese culture. Below are just SOME of the several exciting drinks that will be a part of the menu.
To echo the Showa-era’s street scene of Japan, the restaurant and bar will be decorated with 1970s’ Orlando newspaper, vintage Japanese tin signs and toys shipped from Japan. The exterior's visual highlight is that of local artist Boy Kong's mural featuring retro animal art.
Orlando is ready for new things that showcase a different angle of the Japanese culture and history. Comment below and let me know if you will be there when they open this fall !
They are anticipated to be open in early October 2018 at 8548 Palm Parkway, Orlando, FL, with dinner only service to start.
Disclosure: Special thank you to Susuru owners for allowing me to host their 1st private media preview event with local Orlando photographers, writers, bloggers, and influencers. It was a great success. Thank you .
