Che Che’s Brings Jamaican & Caribbean Inspired Vegan Food to Orlando

I first discovered Che Che’s this past weekend while visiting CayCakes Bakery at the District on Mills 50, a Vegan grocery and food vendor market  in Orlando.

For the past month, I have definitely been eating more vegan and vegetarian foods than I have ever eaten in my whole life. Why? Because of the many health benefits that can come from eating no animal products, along with the environmental benefits surrounding veganism. Even though I have not turned 100% .... or even 50% vegan, I am still exploring, as I am discovering some DELICIOUS vegan restaurants lately that have opened my mind to the possibilities- like Che Che’s.

Che Che’s is owned by Tanesha and run by her close and tight knit Jamaican family that relocated to Orlando from New Jersey. It began when the owner saw her family becoming increasingly sick - she knew something had to change. She turned to food for the cure.

Tanesha and her family cut out all meat and dairy from their diet. From then on, the sickness went away through her vegan cooking, and the owner knew she wanted to share her love of vegan plant based food with the community, which birthed her business, named Che Che’s.

Having a background of Spanish and Caribbean culture myself, I was immediately shocked to come across vegan food that embodies the flavors, textures, and tastes of the islands. I really could not believe it! I tried their dirty rice and fried cauliflower sweet chili bites, and was hooked to try more.

I also tried their mac n cheese and empanada. Needless to say, there were left overs to share .... whoops. All of their food options are an absolute hit- no complaints here.

Che Che’s is currently doing pop up dinners at the District on Mills 50. They sell out quite often, so it is adviced to be there when they arrive. Be sure to stay up to date on their next pop up by following them on instagram (links below).

Missed their pop up? No worries! They actually sell their dinners at the District pre packaged for customers to purchase anytime. See below for the address and contact info for the District at Mills if you have additional questions.

I am so happy to have found this place - they are one to watch. Another loyal fan. If you try them let me know what you think! Go for it, and be amazed.
