Amour de Miami in Brickell

Amour de Miami in Brickell

When thinking about French cuisine, we often think of refined dining serving dishes such as escargot, foi de gras and … burgers? At Amour de Miami in Brickell, this French-American spot is creating unique and outrageous burgers, guaranteed to awe your taste buds.

Amour de Miami is the first location on American ground from French chef Arnaud Ferlin, who was born and raised in the South of France. Amour follows a slew of 4 restaurants in France, maintaining the same atmosphere and cuisine familiar to Ferlin’s traditions, while incorporating Miami’s cultural diversity.

Amour de Miami is located at the Brickell Plaza in the financial district. In an area known for parking difficulties, you’ll be pleased to find that Amour offers validated $5 valet parking. Just pull up to 951 Brickell Ave., which corresponds to the Brickell Plaza valet, and make sure you receive your ticket. After your visit to Amour, get your ticket stamped in order to receive the $5 rate.

The restaurant isn’t easy to spot, as it’s tucked towards the back of the square. If you’re coming in from Brickell Ave., just head straight back to the restaurants sitting deep in the plaza, behind GreenLife Bistro. If you come in from the valet parking, head straight down the elevator hallway and out the automatic doors. Once you’re in the plaza, you can find Amour to your far left.

The concept behind Amour is French-American cuisine, which is evident in every section of their menu. While offering classic French dishes such as Croque Madame, Amoureux des Rivieres and Baked Escargot, you will also spot American influenced dishes- such as La Franchouillard (a beef burger with homemade cream of chives, crispy onions and smothered in Raclette- right at your table!), Fried Chicken strips served with tartar sauce, and other American staples- wraps, sandwiches and salads.

While known for their French cuisine and its authenticity, your experience would be incomplete without one of their signature burgers.

At Amour, ditch the bread and order the Avocado Burger. Avocados for buns make this burger entirely too difficult to hold, but it’s all worth it for the chunks of avocado in every bite. Topped with crispy bacon, cheddar cheese & sesame seeds atop the avocados, this burger is a sure new favorite.

“... There has never been a sadness that can’t be cured by breakfast food.”

Breakfast lovers rejoice for the waffle burger at Amour. Layered crispy, thin waffles house a thick beef patty topped with bacon and the works. As if the sweet and savory burger wasn’t a celebration of flavors already, this burger is topped with a runny egg- perfect for that yolk porn shot.

If I’m mentioning this burger again, it’s because it’s quite simply unforgettable. The massive burger on its own consists of double beef patties topped with cheddar and bacon, sandwiched between two brioche buns and stuffed with french fries that spout out the top of the bun. The awe really sets in when your server arrives with a hot pot of fondue and delicately drowns the burger in creamy raclette. Everything tastes better covered in cheese.

Pair any of these burgers (or their French cuisine) with either of their French beers- La Ch’ti or La Cadette- or stick to bottles and drafts with more familiar titles. If you’re more of a coffee fiend, you’ll find a variety of cafe options, including Cuban cortaditos.

Everyone’s favorite drink- Mimosa- makes appearances at breakfast. Amour’s breakfast menu offers everything from the ever-popular benedict and french toast to French breakfast dishes, such as Eggs ‘a la Coque’ or French Steak and Eggs. You even have the option of creating your own omelettes, crepes, pancakes and waffles.

Pro-tip: Saturday and Sunday brunch includes free bottomless mimosas with any brunch entree.

Inside seating will bring you the most authentic French experience, including the Acadian Citroën- a classic French commercial vehicle, brought over directly from France. While indoors may feel more on the side of refined dining, their outdoor terrace is perfect to enjoy tropical Florida days under their grand umbrellas.
